We now have digital cameras with WiFi and touch screens about the same size as that plastic tape.

My father-in-law worked at TI in the 1960s through the 1980s, and he claims they had the first digital camera. He said it used a magnetized disc kind of like an oversized HDD disk instead of a tape. I'll have to ask him later today about when this was.

Just confirmed, first digital camera was patented in 1972 by Texas Instruments.

This shows how much we have advanced with technology I was just looking at the pentax wg-1 and it is waterproof up to 33 ft. wow we have come along ways.
