Couldnt agree more. The growth rate here is astonishing. The Calgarian transit system is far from being able to handle the current population. However our C-train service is completely run on clean energy. Alberta itself needs to get away from coal based energy. Coal is a horrible source of energy.
Well, the entire steel industry in Pittsburgh basically collapsed in the 70s, so there really isn't anything left besides some mines and a couple of mills in Homestead (which isn't in Pittsburgh). I think everyone is surprised to see Pittsburgh on the list. Maybe it has to do with the downtowns being clean rather than the neighborhoods?
That list is only for top five, Pittsburgh is in the top 10 (or twenty if you want to count all of the ties), but I agree, Pittsburgh shouldn't have made it on there. Certain sections are nice, but overall, not clean enough for this list.
canada and northern europe and Japan seem to dominate the rest of the world - anyone know why that is? it is because it is cold and the populations of cities are low?

As an Amsterdammer I salute you. Although I really wonder how me made it to the list.

I have been to Minneapolis countless times, and believe me it has no business being on this list, or any list of clean cities for that matter.

Minneapolis - Clean? NO Sterile? Yes! I'll take Chicago on a bad day.

Cleanest city I have been to is Singapore. I am really surprised it is not on the list.
