alternet.org— Compared to others in developed countries, Americans don't ask for more vacation time, don't take all their vacation time and continue to work while on vacation.

Your boss is being irresponsible for letting the company become so dependent on one individual...and/or you're being irresponsible for not training anyone. (either that or this is just you feeling self-important)
But self education isn't going to get you anywhere in fields like medicine or engineering or the sciences which are some of the best paying jobs out there
Lucky you. My sister-in-law lost a pension she worked 35 years for when her company went bust. At 60 it is hard to start over in the work force. Age discrimination is real. Ever hear of Enron? They cheated thousands out of their life savings. When I was your age, there were no 401Ks or Roth IRAs, but most companies had pension plans. And we were promised that social security and medicare benefit. When companies are allowed to bail out on pension obligations, what can you do?
What a lot of crap. Do you have any idea how many older people are working because large companies have been able to dump their pension plans? Do you have any idea how many people over the age of 50 lost their life savings because of the greed of the Enron debacle? I have purpose and something to do in life, and I do not need to get a job at McDonald's to have something to live for. Your 30 days of vacation is being paid for by some of those 55+ folks that have to work to afford their medical benefits. Maybe we should start looking at the outrageous benefits that government workers get when Social Security goes bust.
If only I can get more time off from work so that we can time with our family but everyone in my household has hectic schedules. If it’s not the kids then it’s my wife and so on.Maybe if we can more days off a week, which would help out a lot.Bent | http://www.africangamelodges.com
