This is only one persons opinion in this arctile, it's not "The Bible" for these movies.Yes, there are different ideas behind movies, but the whole point is what you take from the movie. Everyone reflects on movies differently due to personal experiances, noone is right or wrong in their interpretation.Just because this person has written an article on these movies, does not mean to it correct and you should feel the same way.As for Scarface, personally, it's one of my favourite movies. Yes, the Mafia is wrong, blah blah blah, but it human nature. It's about him having the balls to be the best, but he lost it all because he let it get the best of him.I think the reason that ppl look up to Tony Montana, is because he had the balls to do it, and they don't.

Donny Darko's central theme: How we affect those around us.Come on guys, it's not rocket science. Stop looking for things that aren't there. Watch the Director's Cut if you're still in the dark, as it basically slaps you in the face with it at the end.

He says he doesn't like camcorders because he likes to remember things his own way - the way he remembers them, not necessarily how they happenedthis is a cluewhen you see scenes from the camera, that's what really happened - the murder.most of the rest is a contorted self justification occurring within fred's own mind as he writhes in the chair.the mystery man holds the gun that kills mr. eddie... or is it fred?mystery man is bob is the man behind the dumpster - the great, eternal scapegoat.who says dick laurant is dead? one time it's fred, the other it's the mystery man.writing lynch flick off as artsy fartsy nonsense is just plain lazy, and lynch's own evasiveness takes the audience's ability to solve mysteries for granted. i do not view this as a mistake on lynch's part, as it creates a world of puzzles to figure out for those of us who are interested.do you think it is a coincidence that fred literally cut his wife in half, and that 2 different versions of her showed up in his fantasy?one was the filthy slut who can't keep her legs closed, one was the princess he thought he married, but she says "you will never have me."well, if he can't have her, no one can.I guess if you want to understand lynch, you've got to learn his language. he is consistent.damn people, why do you even watch his movies?Oh, and Mulholland Drive was wrapped up rather quickly, but the same tactics was used as in Lost Highway. Most occurs during death, and subliminal "dream" imagery fills her fantasy with the symbols and people of the worst night of her life - the last straw. We see the world as she sees it, and her own justifications and explanations for why someone could possibly hire and love and actress other than her - the cries of shame and selfish delusion in a final, twitching, orgasm of a mind that recoils in disbelief. This all may sound very vague to you, but do a little research, and you might find more than you thought you would.

I think you understand it perfectly.

Hey! Another Digg "Top N" list posted on some crappy blog/"news site" by an arrogant guy. Man, I never expected that to make it to the front page and get thousands of diggs...I haven't seen some of the movies mentioned, but from his comments on the ones I had seen he either stated something obvious or just confirmed what an idiot he was like with Gone With The Wind.

You must be new here.

I was actually far more amused by the comments on the fellow's site regarding his list and interpretations, but it's late and I'm getting loopy, and like this, it's far easier to take things with a grain (or five) of salt.

I'll agree with you that these are misunderstood movies. If you mean "top ten" in terms of how many people have seen them and misunderstood them, then yeah. However "BS French art films" is something that you're going to have to explain. I can't say I disagree that these films in your link are misunderstood cinematic pieces as well, but art/ experimental/ avant garde, -- even in French -- has its place.http://youtube.com/watch?v=uomfk91xvB4

That quote is after about two pages of Freud analyzing a dream, its not meant to stop people from analyzing but rather to put it into perspective.

I think that Pulp Fiction is really meant to be a postmodernist film in that it presents the different characters viewpoints and way of seeing the world. Vincent represents logic, Jules spirituality, etc. If you take Jules' view, Vincent died because he did not take the divine sign seriously. However, if you take Vincent's viewpoint, he died because his partner Jules left him. Logic vs. Spirituality.
