how does sword and the sorcerer rip off conan? movies take a long time from concept to script to casting to filming to editing. granted, it's much faster now, but all of that happening in less than a year... in 1982? yeah right.very few on this list are "rip-offs". they're more like in-the-fad. a few years ago it was zombie movies, and before that asteroid-slamming-into-earth movies. sometime in there was really bad music pop stars trying to act. it's just fads, not rip-offs.
while i'm generally sick of rip-offs of asian cinema, one that I *would* like to see translated into an english language original version remake would be....... the japanese version of "The happiness of the katakuris" which, itself, was a remake of a korean movie. but specifically, i want an english version of the japanese edition because it was freaking bonkers: a thriller / musical where a family opens a guest house in the mountains, and all their guests die.... SO THEY SING AND DANCE ABOUT IT. (and yes, i would very much like to see english language songs) apparently, the korean version wasn't a musical.

Mac and Me was such a blatant ripoff that I remember the other kids my age thought it was a ripoff.

I haven't seen Bad Boys II. It ripped off the scene with the car driving downhill through all the houses?
