An arcade cabinet needs a trackball. Its a little pricey but it gives you a bit more games and makes windows easier to use. Plus, a CRT is not the best option unless you just have one sitting around you're not using. For the money, a cheap TV will give much large screen and honestly, old school games look a little worse on a monitor. However, a 24 hour build time is pretty impressive.
lots of nice pics, but not too impressive.. least impressive, monitor choice. I skimmed through it so I didn't see what size he actually used, but why the huge plexiglass screen with a tiny screen? either spend the money on a large monitor/LCD, or if your cheap go buy a 25" TV for like $150 and use a video card with composite out for goodness sakes! I mean if your playing arcade stuff, you probably want a little bit of blurr since most stuff is using dithering for shading, and sharpness is only going to reveal lots of dots. I hacked joysticks to make arcade sticks when I was like 14, 18 years ago (helps that I lived in the same town as happ controls that sells arcade parts). nice tutorial, but I hope that was his first build.

You only built that cabinet because you saw Hak.5 on Digg last week, oh wait you haven't actually even built it?!?

24 hours? Not counting going out buying all the stuff, making room for everything in the garage, asking friends for tools...

I wanna build one using linux as the OS. I found some info at: <a class="user" href="http://easymamecab.mameworld.net/html/linux.htm,">http://easymamecab.mameworld.net/html/linux.htm,</a> but I'll have to play around with it and see if I can get it to work.
