businessweek.com — I know a lot of people starting to eat local. It's effectively the moral of the book "Omnivore's Dilemma". It's a good thought, but for a lot of people would mean having to cut way back on the variety of things they eat.

I think that making the choice to eat more of our foods from local producers can be a powerful way to shape our world. Creating sustainable food economies is important. Local food tastes great and is healthy. There is an amazing amount of variety available - real food. If you want food out of boxes or bags, local might be tough. You don't have to eat 100% local - but produce, meat, dairy, eggs - these are things that are to found close to home. We can make choices that make a difference in our lives and in our communities.
