cnbc.com— As experts debate the potential speed of the US recovery, one figure looms large but is often overlooked: nearly 1 in 5 Americans is out of work or under-employed.

John,You didn't get the memo? Obama and the Dems think businesses are evil, money grubbing, capitalistic organizations (with "capitalistic" being an evil word). Why, companies have never done this country ANY good whatsoever... I mean, look at all the capitalistic prosparity they've brough over the last 250+ years, not to mention all the people they've employed. They should be ASHAMED of themselves, those evil companies!
"Here's a little home work for you. I promise it'll be eye opening-- how many "empires" or governents have fallen due to collapsed economies? How many have led into dictatorships after their fall? And finally, how many wars were causes thereof? And the bonus question is-- what happened to all these political parties in the end?"1. Plenty. 2. The vast majority. 3. Complex question requiring a complex answer. All wars have an economic element, if not an overt motivation in the acquisition of land, property, or slaves. There are nuanced conditions that make it difficult to describe the mainstream view of the nature of war over time, but so much is true: Those who control the system engage in perpetual growth of with ethical corruption, and desire the use of taxation and democracy to make it seem legitimate. The advent of fiat currency enhances the ability to suppress dissent and sustain plunder. Abstract war arises out of the burdens of military adventurism.Bonus: The veil is once again lifted, and the mob the political class once controlled tends to turn on them. It is unfortunate that innocents who know better are harmed in the process, but that's what's going on most of the time.Soviet Russia was a very ugly thing. This sort of police state apathy and/or malaise suggest the inward pointing violence will be hard to resist, even for local politicians who claim to see the light. Those who see the writing on the wall should be focusing on self-sustainment first and foremost. Not to diminish the issue, but it is only a prediction, and it is a generalization. That said, the situation could deteriorate as soon as 2012. If the facade is maintained longer than 6 years, then a more apparent neo-fuedalism will exist, paired with global mercantilism.
We should unilaterally back out of all trade organizations and treaties and we should impose a 12% across the board duty on all imports of goods and services. We should repeal any specific case tarriffs.Of course everyone is going to holler Smoot Hawley, but 12% is not going to stop international trade. Why would we do this?1.- Because the USA is now a big enoug and diverse enough economy to focus on our internal markets and stay competetive with the rest of the world.2.- Because if we don't then in th global economy the American worker is going to arrive at wage aprity with his competitors in China and India.3.- Because if all the crap we buy from China were manufactured here we would put Americans back to work.Don't drink the Koolaid - Globalism only helps the very wealthy.
Facts? What facts?Dismissing problems as "manufactured" and making baseless claims about the President "working his whole adult life" to bring about a communist regime doesn't make it true. All you do is peddle the same fact-free garbage day after day, consistently making Joe McCarthy look sane in comparison.Again, keep up the Teabagger strategy of image self-immolation with all your tinfoil-wrapped secret plots and see how far it gets you.
CCoburn, you and your crazies on the fringe are the American equivalent to the Taliban. You're promoting a self-fulfilling prophecy. You think if you stage your little revolution, the government will idly standby and let you disregard the rule of law? Anything the government does to truncate the barbarism you promote will only fuel your unabashed hate. I won't BS you though, if you can't contain your urges to retain civility and back a violent, arms-backed opposition, I'll take pleasure in picking you guys off from a distance longer than you can fathom.Love,A Marine Corps Marksmanship Instructor
