Wouldn't be surprised if they start off prototyping from the Samsung Blackjack platform.I wish Google would hurry up and get me my long-lasting battery using e-ink or maybe manually powered hand-cranking like the days of yore

That was a mock up from before, reused as illustration to the story.

Here's some more information on the Skia graphics technology that Google acquired. Note that this does not mean that Google is actively using the engine, they probably have rewritten it to fit any new projects Google may be working on.http://www.satine.org/archives/2007/03/05/the-skia-source-code-dilemma/

I believe the rumour to be absolutely correct. However from some of the specifications one can extapolate that the phones extended features will only be available from certain locations in cities and towns. Its not exactly clear if these "spots" will actually exist or if they can be located but the physical location and the results of locating these spots is rumoured to be quite exciting in your experience of the phone. Its not yet clear what the marketing guys at Google will call this service but its believed they will stick to the G branding at some point.

but... speculation is kinda fun... and you're not exactly forced to read the story...

I've got one, it's brilliant: heaps of storage and a nice interface.Just hope you don't mind it collecting your personal data to generate ads.

Duh, that's because Sidekick is a T-Mobile trademark. At Danger, the device is referred to as a HipTop.

Sounds interesting... Even if it's not true it is quite a nice ideampItk

This simply wont happen, Google has no real motivation to introduce a phone in an already competitive market, with Apple in the staging area for releasing .http://www.homephoneservices.co.uk
