It's not about the guns. It's about our violent culture. There are countries with as many guns per capita as the US, but with far far less shootings per capita.
How can a country expect its citizens to remain peaceful when its leadership refuses to do so?

I'm not even going to throw my stance out on this argument because I'm literally on the fence about the issue these days, but generalizing everyone that supports an opinion into such a slap-stick affair helps no one. Grow up a little, everyone needs to start promoting conversations & compromises not arguing and ridiculing. That s**t wont get us anywhere, especially this red neck crap...

Hah! What is this rubbish? I'm not going to bother arguing the specifics - just point out that using a tiny town of 31,000 (now) as this kind of emphatic proof that 'more guns' is the solution to crime is the most absurd thing I've heard for quite some time. Not that it's necessarily false, just the argument presented is ridiculous.
Let's have real study (peer reviewed thesis please, just in case someone is thinking of doing a PhD) done as to the affect of a well armed populace and crime rates, and post that instead of this petty, biased, yeehaw s**t.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Seems like the posts are male dominated, I may be wrong... but as a woman I definitely feel safer being armed with something that would stop anyone in their tracks instead of just "hoping" someone doesn't break in my house and ...well... you get the idea. We have the right to bear arms, if you don't want to own a firearm then don't but don't bash people who do. If you had a choice to rob a house with gun owners inside or a house without gun owners... what would be your preferred target???

100% of all gun crimes (including 100% of all shootings) are committed by an armed person.
Of course people are gonna act "nice" and "polite" around an armed person - it takes an especially unhinged person to think they need other people's respect and fear so badly they trot around armed in public; it's best to smile, nod, and let the baby have his bottle.
