xbox.com — Article from Xbox.com highlighting the greatness of the PMS clan. They are touted as being the best of the best in female gaming. If you click through to their Xbox-life profiles you will see most of them have only accumulated a little over 100 gamer points or even less! Are gamer girls getting sponsored because of their looks? You be the judge.

My fiance` is a rec gamer and a smokin hott one at that but I would have to agree that most of the gamer girls that we see are just eye candy. I've played some girls that just made me look silly sometimes and I'm not afraid to admit it. One thing I want to bring up is my 6 yr old brother has made some gamers alot older than him look silly playing halo 2 on-line.

In English usually the generic term by default applies to the male population when used alone; to denote a female you have to specify it. Not so in other languages but it's like that in English.

Rip - first off, second life is not a real game in terms of the competitiveness involved. I don't exactly see tournaments for who has the best second life character so that doesn't count. As to hating for the opportunities they receive, you couldn't be more wrong. Personally I could care less about that because I know that I have a real career that will take me places. I'm pissed because I've spent a large amount of money on the Xbox, Xbox 360, and various Microsoft titles for Xbox, Xbox 360 and PC. I don't like the idea of my money going to support someone who has NO PROOF of their supposed credibility in terms of rank. Which leads to my next comment.Venus - Show me where the stats are that prove that PMS placed 8th and I'll shut up about it. As of this point I've heard nothing more then BS stories that PMS placed well in this tournament and that when in fact they haven't. In fact a certain member of yours told me specifically that ALL FOUR of the teams from PMS at the NY MLG LOST IN THE FIRST ROUND. I'm sorry but that doesn't sound like a successful team to me. So unless you have some HARD PROOF of what PMS has done then I suggest you don't respond further until you do.As to your comment about sports coaches, whether you realize it or not, these coaches have played the game in the younger years growing up and I'm sure for quite a number of years afterwards. That is how they got into the sport in the first place. After which, once they have been around for a while moving up through various positions do they receive the position of coach. A person does not just receive the position because they went to school for coaching. They have to have PROOF of their credibility and success as a coach. Also, I know AthenaTwin is a leader of PMS. That doesn't mean jack. She's one of the women that are being put on the Game with Fame which means she, just like all the others, need to prove themselves worthy and PMS has yet to do such a thing. Besides my point was that if she's working all the time and traveling all the time, how could she have time to do anything game related. Whether that be leading or playing doesn't matter. Point is, she doesn't have any credibility. The only thing I can give credit to her for is kissing the right people's butts to get attention plain and simple. It's stuff like that that makes me mad. It's gone from being about the game and skill to who can kiss the most butt. I'm sorry but that's not acceptable. You want women to be equal in the gaming arena? Well then you need to do two things. First, the gender thing HAS to go away. In other words, no dividing things up by saying male gamer or female gamer. It needs to be left simply at gamer plain and simple. Nothing more, nothing less. Second, attention, sponsorship, etcetera needs to be based on merit and on a set of rules that ALL must follow. None of this I'm a girl so look at me and give me attention, who cares if I'm good or not. That's BS. Prove yourselves and perhaps then it wouldn't be such an issue. Personally I'd rather see Girls of Destruction or the KSI female division be put up there because at least they have some credibility and shame. They don't go shamelessly flaunting themselves around to get attention. Heck, they don't even ask for it yet they still get their fair share. So when you can come up with an intelligible answer and proof of PMS' credibility, then I'll back off, otherwise, don't bother responding.

Obviously you have not played or met all of the PMS members. Yes some of them are decent people but not all of them are. Plus, if you get to know them well enough, as long as you kiss their butts and play nice with them they'll be cool with you. Once you cross them, watch out, the claws will come out. Something as simple as not defending them in a conversation you are part of is enough for some of them to turn on you. Here's an example for you. A friend of mine was playing a game with some of the PMS members in Halo 2. AthenaTwin was the leader of the room. During the game there was your typical trash talking. PMS members calling guys and girls bit**es and so on and so forth. So one of the times he goes up and he kills AthenaTwin and says take that bit** in the typical trash talking manor that had been taking place already. What does she do? She boots him from the room. I'm sorry but if you're going to dish it out then you dang well better be able to take it. If not, then you need to shut up and not say anything. That's just one item, there are many many other items of how they've used people and when they were done with them threw them aside.

Good for you, Caitlin. As you know, many types of video games don't have nearly enough female players and so the few brave players to step into that arena have to accept unfair amounts of attention. Keep it up. I'm sure that your presence at these games, win or lose, will be affecting more women than you think.Nobody ever said that blazing a trail was easy. Please keep going to the events, keep having a good time, and bring in as many women as you can to the world of gaming. Most of us will appreciate that immensely.

(Seriously, you really miss the point of PMS. They promote gaming for girls.) I'm missing the point? I was raised that gaming is for everyone, of you start excluding and dividing people into groups, that's when you start running into issues! I know that there ARE good people in PMS! I am simply complain as a customer of the service to highlight more deserving people then those who have been highlighted! Instead of promoting gaming for girls, promote gaming for all. Once you start dividing people and excluding them , telling them that there is in just amongst females and males, that is wrong in so many ways. (They try to break the stereotypical girl molds by encouraging girls to game.)Reasonable people in real life and in the digital world do NOT stereotype. Any gamer with any sense of logic and decency can tell you that they never regard females as something "rare and fragile that needs to be encouraged". They simply seem them as equals. Those who go around claiming that girls are rare and fragile are kids that simply need to grow up. Girls already game, they have been for decades! Those who game accept the fact that there will always be immature people that you run in to. Same in real life! )Since you are already a girl gamer you don't need their help.) I'm not a girl gamer, I am a gamer! We are not talking about PMS helping out or PMS propaganda, we are talking about those who have been featured and about customer neglect!(Why do you begudge their efforts towards other girls? Your shallow behavior betrays a jealous nature towards female role models. It a position you will not likely ever be asked to fill.)Trust me, if you knew me personally you would never ever been able to speak those words.I have always tried to set a good example towards my fellow man. So you are telling me that girls acting unprofessional in events, those who are in the spotlight, wave their asses to the camera, are decent role models? I KNOW for a fact that there are good people in PMS, I would love to see those in the spotlight!Decent people that are mature, kind and have a sense of dignity and morals!I have been playing with men and female alike, both me, and my brother and we never ever ever hung around people who don't believe in equality and most of the time it has never been an issue. What we dislike however is when girls are being portrayed the way those 8 are supposed to be representing female gamers. We both felt insulted. Esp my brother since he is older and has been around and even created a gamer or two since the beginning. I am sorry to say if you think I am such a bad role model, why does alot of people in my life have great respect for me? How come people come to me with their problems, issues and sorrow and not PMS? So don't even try to question my integrity.

If you "actually read" the comments here you'd see that we are challenging their credibility and their particular worthiness to be on Game with Fame. If you know of another female clan that has earned it, then by all means, bring them to the forefront and I'll support them. Point is, they have to earn it just like everyone else. They want to be equal, fine. Drop the gender, we are all nothing but gamers of which some happen to be male and some happen to be female. Same rules apply to all, no favorites, no gender bias as there seems to be with Trixie. If you truly earn it then I have no problems with it.

See Post Below, digg messed with punctuation.
h2oripJun 3, 2006
Because digg likes to mess with certain punctuation:For someone who’s telling others to read comments, its seems rather odd you’re over generalizing. Its you who is challenging their credibility on the ‘game with fame’ thing, and your jealousy and utter hatred is rather absurd. And you're so nice to your 'source' you practically are asking us to look through the ranks for people feeding you incorrect information? Aren't you philanthropic *rolls eyes* You're just one bag of sour apples, give it a rest. As I mentioned before, put your energy into something positive because you’re coming across as someone with a foolish vendetta. Quite frankly I don’t care why you’ve got so much hate, its clearly stemmed from something personal, and I feel very sorry for you if you’re that unable to move on with your own life and continue to get hung up here. Responding to someone who spends a ton of time in work with something like - I can’t sit here and write all day because I actually work-is pretty hypocritical, and plain pointless. If someone doesn’t fit within our community they are more than welcome to leave, if they have such complaints as your ‘source’ than it seems rather ignorant not for them to leave. Of course should you be portraying their information in an incorrect fashion and distorting it to your own personal use, than its possible I guess. Ever since you left you’re personal crusade against the PMS community has been rather relentless and without success, and you have been growing in frustration ever since. You can be vociferous, but your commentary is so clearly filled with hatred and inaccuracies that its ridiculous. Oh and you were shown results with a tourney ranking above 8th, at which point you said you would can it, or are you simply out to garner negative attention because you can’t make positive use of your own life. I believe the correct way to put it is ;why do you care so much? Its getting old with your little tantrums on digg, go do something productive with your life since you are already short of time with your work.
sabine200Jun 4, 2006
Okay Rip, first off, if you, and others, stop responding to my posts then I'd have nothing left to respond to now would I? I made my comments, others like you haven't necessarily agreed with it, throw something else back at me and there you have it, I respond back. Besides, didn't Twin ask all of the H2O's and PMS members to quit posting here? Yep she did. So why are you still posting if you were asked to stop? That's not being very supportive if you are going against something she asked you to do. Next, if you want to continue this little technicality trip, then you also would be stalking me. So how does that sit with you? Besides, since you and Fedaykin seem to think I'm "stalking" them, then do this, go look up the law definition of stalking, what constitutes it and then point out ALL of the occasions that supposedly constitute my stalking them. I'm sure you'll find that according to law I am not stalking anybody. It's like saying that all the people that talk bad about a political figure would be stalking that person, even though it's only on the web or in newspaper or TV ads. John Kerry for instance. There was a campaign where veterans aired a commercial, on TV and radio, saying how Kerry didn't earn his purple hearts and that rippled throughout the web on various political forums. In that case, there were also a few people who were very persistent on their views and continued to post over and over again. None of them were thrown in jail, nor were they charged with stalking. So if they didn't get charges thrown against them or get accused of stalking, since that's the topic I mention it specifically, when they attacked a political figure, then how do you expect any sort of case to stand here? Exactly, it won't. Here's another example, any publicly traded company on Yahoo has a message board in their finance section. I've seen cases where the same exact people post bad things about various companies spanning back YEARS and nothing has happened to them. Day after day, month after month, the same people have posted comments slamming the company in question, questioning their business practices, etc. If anyone is going to get hit for something it should be these people and yet they continue to post and nothing is done about it. This is no different then what is taking place here.In the end all this proves is that yes I've found dirt on them, I've called them on it, I hit a sore spot and now people like you come out to try to counter it and do damage control. If PMS didn't have a reputation for screwing over their own members and doing other questionable things then I'd really have nothing to be vocal about. I've seen too many decent people get the shaft from them and here they are getting called famous when they don't deserve it.As to my comment to Twin about stopping in regards to the tournaments and rank. I did stop on that topic. I did as I said I would do. I did not say I would quit responding about other things. I still don't agree with them being called famous and I don't agree with how they treat people and I believe people have the right to know this. Just wait, you cross them once and you'll get the same exact treatment, guaranteed. So if you want me to stop posting then stop responding and I'll have nothing left to comment on. It's as simple as that. While were at it, since you seem to supposedly know me so well then let me give you a little insight on what I think about you. You're a fan boy through and through. You have a low self-esteem, not many friends (if any), and you try to kiss up to PMS whenever you can to try to make yourself feel better. You hope that they'll pay attention to you and will make you feel important in their world so you can feel like you're important period. Otherwise you are nothing more then a hack who pretends to have all this knowledge and tries to throw out big words to sound smart when there placement is obviously very blatant and not part of the normal flow. It's obvious from all of your other posts that you do not use big words that make people sound like they're smart, rather you add them in when you feel hurt or let down or need to try to accommodate for something else you lack. In the end you are nothing more then a loser. You were the kid who was picked on in school, or is still being picked on, and every attempt you make to get back at them is thwarted and thrown right back in your face. If I actually cared I might pity you, but since I don't all I can say is go to your doctor or psychiatrist and get your anti-depressant medication changed or increased.

I am reminded of the same arguments that floated around when I was a rarity in the tabletop field of gaming/rpgs. A gamer is a gamer. The same comments and prejudices are here as well. I've been 'gaming' in different aspects since Pong and the original Atari/Intellivision, and played Doom, Duke Nukem and Castle Wolfenstein when they were shareware games with bad graphics as well as the original Gold Box AD&D games. Yes, it's nice to play an MMO for social interaction, but many of the female players I know solo as much as I do. It's nice to know that women are out there playing in competitions, but I don't really consider them as representing me as a gender. There are different levels and styles of gaming and a casual gamer and a hardcore gamer have different goals, but a gamer is a gamer.

... WHY.. do myspace girls all make the same stupid face??? http://myspace-051.vo.llnwd.net/00733/15/07/733677051_l.jpg

I think it's unfortunate gamers on both sides have to resort to personal attacks in a public forum to get a point across.

I HATE YOU!

I used to be a member of the PMS clan and for the most part they all suck. There are a few good ones but they mainly all suck. I have no idea why they waste their time going to MLG, they never do anything. The reason is they spend more time in practice talking than actually trying to improve. A lot of them are bitches too. If you are a female gamer don't waste your time with this clan, all they care about is the sponsorships and attention they get not the actual games.
