gawker.tv— Nerds with a social conscious-how refreshing. In this clip, a benevolent American gamer saw a plea from a blind Canadian gamer that he wanted to beat Zelda: The Ocarina of Time (aka best game of all time).

But would you be able to feel the base, if you lost your sense of touch?Losing your sense of touch (in this complete hypothetical) would include sensory triggers like physical pain, and things like sensing vibrations should also be included in the sense of touch.I'd imagine no sense of touch would seem like you were numb all the time, but you don't even know you're numb.
Nah. Twilight Princess was pretty close to OoT. Despite being on a better system, the overall experience didn't gain much from the improved technology. If the graphics quality concerns you, you can play OoT in an emulator which will bring up the resolution. There are texture packs to improve the look further. The heart of the game is what really matters though, and OoT is still one of the best games I've ever played, on any system.
The joy in playing a video game is overcoming the difficult obstacles. I can't think of anything more difficult than trying to complete a game intended for a seeing person, without sight. Figuring out ways of "seeing" things in the game is quite a challenge in itself! Can you imagine how great it would be to finish a game that you've been trying for years to complete? I don't think he would have bothered if he wasn't enjoying it. "Just copied EXACT instructions". REALLY? Seriously? How about blindfolding yourself and do the same. Report back and see how easy it is. I bet you'd feel pretty proud just to get out of the Kakariko village.
I don't know about you guys, but I would really like for one of these guys to upload their script in a .txt file or something. I really wonder what it looks like.
I don't know what's more depressing, the fact that the kid is blind, or the fact that he doesnt have a friend to be his eyes for him instead of some person over the internet. I actually think I'm going to try gaming this weekend blindfolded with some friends telling me what to do.

Hmm, is following a detailed script of every single action really the same as playing the game?

Reminds me of when I beat Altered Beast with the TV turned off (Genesis had a headphone jack). I guess Zelda is a little harder though.
