I actually got a really great one from vista... I saved the screen shot somewhere. Something about upgrading the service pack 1 to resolve the issue when I'm already running service pack 1.
User-caused error, admin-caused error, and third party-caused error are not to be confused with self-caused error. My question is valid and still unanswered.
So rather then installing windows and running Flash or Photoshop, I can install linux, and then wine, and then Flash or Photoshop - one way I know works and takes less steps, and another that takes more steps and has a lot more opportunities for things to go wrong. Linux just isn't easy - until it's easy, until it's more accessible, it's not going to have wide-spread appeal. Make all the snarky 'should've installed linux' comments you want - my experience has been that every time I've tried to do anything with linux, it's taken easily four times longer (if it ever ends up working at all) then if I had used windows.
