I have a natural hatred of D'Amato, but he is the quintessential street smart politico, and on NY1 the other night he nailed it, talking about how these things get out whether it is intentionally or otherwise. My respect for D'Amato went up significantly, but usually the retired politicians are able to behave in a more civil manner. Spitzer should step out ASAP. Talk about ego, it's now patently obvious that his career was only about his ambition and ego - not on any refined sense of justice.
Many affairs result from a feeling of impotence at home. It could be that his home life makes him feel small and powerless, and he tried to improve his self-image with a romantic/domestic situation where he was the one in control.TL;DR? Maybe she wears the pants and he doesn't like that.
It technically wasn't money laundering since he was only moving around his own money, nor was the money ill-gotten. He didn't do anything illegal besides shipping a prostitute from NY to DC and paying her for sex.
When was the last time a (R) got elected because of "Moral Righteousness"? I hear that excuse EVERY time a (D) has a scandal, but I just don't think its a reality, it seems more like a leftist talking point than a factual truth. Was John McCain elected to the senate because of Moral Righteousness? And he is the Presidential nominee. And actually you are 100% wrong, Spitzer did betray the voters by participating in the things he opposed.Once you pull the party out of your ass and look at politicians on a case by case basis, the whole "defending the party" is just straight up brainwashing bulls**t. 90% of the posts here that defend the guy are based on simple party affiliation, quite sad.
If you'll take a quick look over the your seo profile at domof.com , you should discover that editorialcartoonists.com has a fairly high pagerank (6) but only gets about 1k visits per day, which is kind of odd: http://domof.com/editorialcartoonists.com.html
... also the alexa popularity of 553,910 is kind of low for such a big website
