torrentfreak.com — The Pirate Bay has been portrayed by Hollywood as the enemy of everything that?s creative. They say the site is the death knell of the entertainment industry, causing hundreds and thousands of people to lose their jobs. Meanwhile, The Pirate Bay is helping out yet another indie artist to promote her work.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but we all know that the Pirate Bay is not the friend of people working in the digital media industries. (Heck, I've often heard the argument that the Pirate Bay is good because it *does* harm the "mean, nasty" industry - which illustrates the kind of double-talk that happens when talking about the Pirate Bay.) People like stories like this because it allows them to sate their own consciences about pirating other people's work. The fact that the Pirate Bay decided to help out a creative-commons based movie does not allow you to conclude that it is not harming the rest of the industry. Sorry. It's true. But, you'll all bury me because you'd rather shoot the messenger.
