howtoforge.com — This guide shows how you can set up an OpenSUSE 10.3 desktop that is a full-fledged replacement for a Windows desktop, incl. Skype, Flash Player, Adobe Reader, multimedia codecs, and Google Earth. The benefits are: you get a secure system without DRM restrictions that works even on old hardware, and the best is: all software comes free of charge.

"not a protected mode server" you don't understand what protected mode means, Windows runs in protected mode as well. That alone makes you look stupid."gained employment in the real world of corporate computing" - Who do you think develops OpenSuSE, might it be a corporate Linux distributor....like Novell? You have no clue what you're talking about...but just so you know im posting this using Vista.

If you don't like Windows Vista or Microsoft products in general, linux does the exact same things now. Believe me just search google for wubi and install that and try out Ubuntu. You will probably end up rarely touching Windows again.
