en.wikipedia.org— This was the original logo for Apple Computers long before the the apple with the chunk out of it came along. They didn't always have the best designers in the world.

If we did a bit of Googling for late-seventies logos, we'd find that MANY corporate logos were butt-ugly back then. Not all corporations had timeless brands like McDonalds and IBM.
Not sure if you were referring to my previous comment. However, all I'm trying to say is that since it's already on wikipedia under apple computer, i don't think it's worthy of a digg. Wikipedia is a very popular site, so I'm sure many people have seen this before if they cared about / had an interest in Apple.
Comon, you find this kind of thing interesting? Is this site about digging up little pieces of history? The problem with defining news as previously unknown information is that this is a piece of information that many people already know. Just cause you've never seen it doesn't mean it's stale and pointless.
How did this get 928 diggs? This whole "look I found an old " information is getting old. First the "first iPod ad", now the "old Logo". What's next? Apple set to introduce the Apple /// Business machine.

Yes, this is really lame. I've seen it before. This isn't news. This is a waste of space.

xamox -- click the link and you'll see you're thinking of the more recognizable rainbow apple logo. I also encourage you to check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_turing#Prosecution_for_homosexuality_and_Turing.27s_deathAlan Turing was not only accused of homosexual, but PROSECUTED for it. Yeah, dark ages, huh? Well, I guess not if you live in some of the more christian fundamentalist dominated areas of the US. Then it might be the good ol' days. Since when is being gay trendy? Last time I checked it is one of the few socially acceptable prejudices to have today

I have to agree with some many of the other posts - I'm glad they changed their logo. This one just does not work for a tech company.
