Most of those blogs aren't minimalist whatsoever. Not using large images or strong colors doesn't mean anything when you have text all over the place. I do agree that most of them are good-looking, though.
Okay... I get that minimalist blogs are interesting... but what about sites whose content overruns the boundaries of the background image? Like yours. The irony is - that blog is itself, not that minimalist.I think the best minimalist blog is over at <a class="user" href="http://www.seobook.com/">http://www.seobook.com/</a> - none of those tag clouds and "whos online" to clutter things up.
