chicagotribune.com — When I get unsolicited stock tips in my e-mail box, I am curious as to why someone is mindlessly sending out stock tips. Now here is the answer. They are doing the old pump and dump stock scam. There are a small percentage of people who actually buy the obscure stocks. The spammers must be holding the stock waiting for the price to rise then dump.
