Sorry bud, but socialism has been utterly debunked both morally and practically. Anyone holding on to that philosophy and thinking libertarianism goes against reality is really lacking in either a moral compass or an actual understanding of what works in reality. Free people are not evil, they are the good. Socialists (those who advocate economic subservience to the state) are the ones who think they are good, but are really advocating evil.Oh yeah, and guess what? You can have a commune in a libertarian society! Can you have an economically free zone in a communist society? No.
My main gripe with Libertarians is that so many of them are Talibanesque. They hate everything that happened after the turn of the century....the 19th century.
how 'bout this...Obama = Socialist (very very bad I wouldn't order this ...too much fat, salt and preservatives)McCain = Almost socialist (very bad I wouldn't order this either...too much fat also)Barr = Freedom and Liberty (awesome...plenty of omega 3's lean and trim)I don't order if I don't like it!! Every heard of personal responsibility...geez same old left wing garbage. Blaming McDonald's for the health care system problems (let's stop using cars, machinery, heating and a/c, lights, water, coal, natural gas, vegetables (they have feelings too), and land. People have a choice (unless Obama gets elected). Don't eat there if you don't like it!! Get a life and vote Libertarian!!
Thnx to Laminarcissus and j0keR for posting the truth. Please pay no attention to the other goons who either believe misinformation, don't understand what they've read or haven't researched enough. Many people (esp. Libertarians) believe in a two axis field of political spectrum with liberal (left), conservative (right), Libertarian (up) and Statist/Authoritarian (down). Centrists of course are in the middle. The people who think Obama will bring "real change" are kidding themselves. A candidate from a MAJOR party bringing real change to Washington? Puh-lease. The Democrats and Republicans have been working hard to ensure there's no competition and that they have a lock on electoral system. Minor parties are the only hope for change - unfortunately because of Obama and his party they can't get on the ballots.
Kudos. If more people would take that into consideration, rather than just voting for the mainstream because nobody else is likely to actually win, I'm guessing that Barrs ratings would probably double, and America would HAVE to take another look at the alternatives.
The Constitution Party Http://www.constitutionparty.org/ is the 3rd largest party in the US. I am sorry but Bob Bar voted for the USA PATRIOT Act that enough for me to cast my vote for Chuck Baldwin http://www.baldwin08.com/ (Dr. Ron Paul endorsed Chuck Baldwin Http://www.ronpaul.com/2008-09-23/ron-paul-endorses-chuck-baldwin-for-president/ ). The Constitution Party is larger and on more states ballets then the libertarian party there for I feel that they have a better chance. Since I have new bedroom furniture I can start my reading in my room. I can't wait to please myself with some new original lines from the book in the warmth of my room.

Most of our military supply/support infrastructure is managed by Halliburton or KBR (Halliburton subsidiary). You may have heard of the soldier electrocution problem in Iraq or the $23 billion unaccounted for in Iraq (which is now in a gag order). This is all in a no-bid contract with KBR/Halliburton. KBR builds these bases in Iraq and then hires immigrants from Latin America or India to work there. When things are not running right Military officers can't make the changes (or punish anyone) they can only inform KBR who then just gets another immigrant to continue the work. The US has always used contractors, but they were always bid-contracts and entirely under the authority of the military officers. We "the people" need to be able to be able regulate these things.http://news.google.com/news?client=safari&rls=en-u ...http://news.google.com/news?client=safari&rls=en-u ...

And who are Ron Paul supporters going to rally to instead? The no-hoper Chuck Baldwin, who can't even get on as many ballots as the Libertarian Party?
