vision.org— "Here's another very good reason for women to celebrate on Mother?s Day. All that work of being a mother is paying off in ways we never expected."

It sure does. Each kid is another good couple of hundred a month. Besides, you're doing the nation a favour; you're raising birthrates to offset abortion rates. ~_^
Honestly (and biasedly I might add) just looking at the woman, knowing she wrote it, and the size of font on that wall of text and the fact thats its about women is going to stray about 98% of all diggers from reading this.
Good point, would someone knowledgeable in the field of neuroscience inform us diggers of the actual neurological consequences of motherhood? Come on, there must be at least one neurologist on Digg, or perhaps a neurology grad student.
Maybe it isn't a "reason" for parenthood so much as a compensation. I don't think anyone would suggest a person should have children if they aren't ready for it or equipped to give it their best effort--but for those who have done so, I don't think I would begrudge them a reward for their sacrifice, would you?

Then how come most the mothers i know watch Dr. Phil and read s**tty romance novels. If being a mother made you smarter, then wouldnt it show more?
