Yawn. Overclocking and tweaking and extreme cooling is all so last week.For what it costs for 'extreme' gear you can just add another CPU or double your memory, or proabably a whole computer.Retro fun, sure, cutting edge interesting? Nope.

It isn't like they trash the memory that doesn't meet the specs for this product, they simply reuse the less then perfect memory in on of their other product lines.

Exactly, the more bigger and more complex the semiconductor device the more difficult it is to maintain high yields thus driving the cost of the device up. These prices will eventually fall however as fabrication processes improves yield (e.g. by moving to larger wafer sizes).
