Yeah it sucks no dedicated servers, but it isn't laggy at all. I'm surprised it runs so smooth without dedicated servers. Most of the time it works well. The only downside is occasional glitches in lobby when trying to find a game, but that's rare.
i cant really say much about the military, but as someone who actually throws knives, i feel confident in my abliity to call shenanigans....he never picks up :(

I have thrown my knife a grand total of 1 time, it hit someone in the head across the map on Afghan. I don't think its all that uncommon.
