Why even entertain that comment phil? He is clearly an idiot who grew up with utterly false, advert based, American TV. Either that or some bored 12 year old flaming. He must wish he had a country and/or a media organisation which has the integrity whereby you don't even consider that they could be "making it up" (ala American "news" networks). While we can just sit back and watch the best the entertainment the world has to offer. Ahhhhhhh. ;)
I remember watching this when it was first broadcast on the Beeb (sorry, BBC) in 1998, and was astonished by this and other revelations in the series. As Ireland mentions, the guy is a legend in the UK, he's now 80 and still producing shows. His collective works have revealed more about the natural world to rival national geographic, and has the power to turn you into a green activist, simply by revealing what our planet has to offer. Check out whatever you can of his - many users have pointed out his works

Hugh Laurie (Dr. House, on the TV show "House MD") is a good example of a Brit doing a very good American accent

Lyrebirds are well known in Australia, they even feature on our 10c piece.http://www.ramint.gov.au/images/circ_10c.jpg
