You do know I'm British, don't you?The message in my post is that it is *highly* unlikely that Pope is getting *infinitely* better gas mileage. That would imply that there were no petrochemicals used in the production of the foodstuffs that he consumes and gains energy to power his bicycle. Every step of the way there is an opportunity for petrochemicals to be used (and no matter how organic your food is, if you aren't growing it yourself the transport of that food to the shops you buy it from uses oil).
