You always hear about geniuses that lived hundreds of years ago and such. It really is awesome to hear of one this recently. Esher's work is so amazing.

Aw come on! His draftsmanship was beautiful - I think if his stuff was vector based it would just look cold and mechanical.

It might be worth noting that Escher didn't to "drawings." They were usually wood etchings that he then made prints out of. To me, that aspect makes his art even more amazing. The fact that he could etch these intricate mathematically accurate pictures and designs into wood... makes the idea of simply "drawing" it look way too simple :-)
