NO DIGGThey don't even mention EVE-ONLINEBut then again I don't want EVE to be #1 Popularity is an open invitation to the dregs of MMO Communities (Trolls, Spammers, Campers, Fanboys, People who have lost their ability to separate their virtual life from their real life, etc...)
If there were a Shadowrun MMORPG, I think it would do extremely well. I know there's that other Shadowrun game being made, but it's basically a shooter. I'd love to see a true MMORPG of it. That could get me away from WoW.
Mirunit is right. Vanguard looks better, along with a slue of other mmo's that are NOT these. Maybe Warhammer among others? This list seems to have been made just to have a list...like someone just wanted to make an article and try to get it dugg. Not worth the read.
It's obviously innovative in that it made a niche genre appealing and accessible to many different types of gamers and non-gamers alike. If, as you say, there is nothing innovative or different about WoW, perhaps you can explain the sheer popularity and funness of it. They didn't invent a new genre, Blizzard did what they've always done: take an existing genre and make it good. Why is that so hard for other game producing companies to understand?
Or perhaps it should be: "loathed by those who are jealous of it's success." You don't really offer much support for your hatred of WoW. You claim the graphics suck, which means you're either just digging for bad stuff about the game, or you're blind. You say it "compromises" it's world for infants as if you claim to know what it's world was supposed to be before it was "compromised." And as for boring, I don't think anyone in their right mind can claim that WoW is boring and then tell us how they play EQII... I'm sorry, that's just funny.I understand that you hate it, but if you're going to complain about it, try to think of something better than this.
GWAAHH! i am teh digg troll!! this article sucks! it sounds like it was written by a high school student! it's pretty boring and stuffs! no diggs! i eat diggs! argghh *munch munch munch* except tabula rasa does look kinda cool! gwaahhhrgg
I might have to reactive my account for awhile when the expansion comes out. It looks like they are starting to have better ideas for how the end game should/could be played. What the game is really lacking though is a dynamic environment. Nothing ever moves or changes, it just sits there and you go kill stuff for better gear until the next update, it gets old fast. It is completely dependant on updates which come out very slow.
The Conan game looks really interesting. It's not mentioned in TFA, but the game is single player and offline until you reach lvl 20 (estimated around 2-3 weeks of play time). Combine that with the mature themes like decapitation and lots of blood, and it just may keep the griefers and leet-kiddies away. I would pay double my WOW subscription if it was required 18+ years old to play.

I'd have a really hard time playing any game published by SOE.
