I had a feeling that the odds were astronomically small (no pun intended).Although, I was under the impression that we could see "close" GRB generating events even if we weren't on the business end of them. If that isn't true, how do we know that there are not GRB events occurring (or that could occur) within lethal range that we don't know about?
