blog.washingtonpost.com — This just in: The Republican CNN/YouTube debate, in limbo for the past few weeks, is on again. But Mitt Romney, who won Saturday's Iowa straw poll and has criticized the debate format, has yet to commit to the Nov. 28 event.

No. I think a town hall style debate is fine and would love to see it. Answering questions (that they have advance knowledge of) from snowmen and guys pretending to be stereotypical southern hicks (and this is from the 20 minutes I watched in the hospital -- i had been in a car crash that night) is f**king pathetic.

It doesn't matter really. They're not going to ask the questions that need to be asked.

It doesn't matter what the "best" format is. What matters is that there is a debate, whether you like it or not, and that it helps get face time to the "lesser" candidates who are more often censored or ignored by traditional media.

Hey, about Iowa. why is it that 26,000 people bought tickets at 35 dollars a peice in order to vote. but when the votes are counted they only total around 12k? Why o Why would people pay 35 dollars a ticket and not vote?

26k Iowans paid 35 dollars a ticket to go and vote. When the votes were counted they totalled up to a little more than 12k. Why would 14k Iowans , more than fifty percent, pay the entry but not vote? Maybe they did vote and they weren't counted , or maybe they didn't vote and Tom "lets bomb mecca while denying evolution" Tancredo really is more appealing to the average Iowan than Ron Paul. Either way were are prolly f**ked already

I think thats a valid point.. Maybe we can have debate "rounds" where each "debate" actually is a multi-day event where randomly matched candidates can talk issues?
