Did you know; A man in England died on 24 March 1975 from laughter. Alex Mitchell was watching a classic episode of the British comedy 'The Goodies' called "Kung Fu Kapers" in which Tim Brooke-Taylor, dressed as a kilted Scotsman, used a set of bagpipes to defend himself from a psychopathic black pudding (from the Lancastrian martial art "Ecky-Thump") in a demonstration of the Scottish martial art of "Hoots-Toot-ochaye.http://www.answers.com/topic/the-goodies
It's worth its spot on the frontpage of Digg, simply because it's one of those classic clips that define what British humor is today.Without this things like Blackadder, Alas Smith & Jones, The Young Ones would never have been around to enjoy. It can serve as a little intro into better humor and comedy for the younger digg-generation.I've always been a great fan of British humor (being a Belgian), I grew up on it, somehow either the TV was set to Auntie Beeb (we got cable in the early 70's) or one of the other channels was showing a British comedy (Are you bein' served?, etc), and even as a 6-7 year old I could enjoy even the humor of Monty Python (although a lot of jokes went unnoticed then). It also illustrates the toying with words, something also very well known in British humor.Especially when you know German (in this case) - I'm just wondering know how the hell they subtitled or dubbed that sketch in Germany...............Diggworthy for its 'historical' value.
