stephencovey.com— ?One word expresses the pathway to greatness: voice. Those on this path find their voice and inspire others to find theirs. The rest never do.?

I always find it refreshing that people who hit upon such universal truths--Covey and Drucker are great examples--continue to remain relevant and applicable to folks, no matter how the world changes around them.
1. What are you good at? That’s your mind. 2. What do you love doing? That’s your heart. 3. What need can you serve? That’s the body. 4. And finally, what is life asking of you? What gives your life meaning and purpose? What do you feel like you should be doing? In short, what is your conscience directing you to do? That is your spirit. This is good stuff.
And after you have read Mr Covey's feel-good psycho-twaddle, exactly what have you learned? Oooh, you've learned that the recipe for fulfillment is to do what you do well, do what you like to do, do what you have to do, and do what you think you ought to do. Only all at once.Well, that's certainly illuminating, and clearly not something that any adult with a braincell to spare could have figured out for themselves. But wait, Mr Covey has more to tell us about 'voice'. Apparently, the thing about 'voice' is that you discover it in a flash. Except when you don't. In other news, the water that comes out of my tap is hot. Except when it isn't. But we can discover our 'voice' (or help others discover theirs) by being 'genuine' and 'authentic', and like, listening to each other. Only we have to really listen. Like, _really_ listen, dude. Just pretending to listen won't do it. Make a note of that.Excuse me, I have to go now. My 'voice' is telling me that it's time for me to go and sing kumbaya and hug some puppies. Don't wait up.
angusm,You write well, and cleverly indeed, but your reading isn't careful. Dr. Covey did not write anything like "the thing about 'voice' is that you discover it in a flash. Except when you don't." He said it's normally an evolutionary process, but can/might happen in flash.
