The list never claims to be complete. It also was clearly written by an American so why would they not refer mostly to their own country? If you noticed most of those books are well known and highly praised and many have altered society as we know it with their commentary. Clearly other books have been challenged or banned. The author of the page is clearly trying to make a point against censorship. A point you seem to have missed.
Amazing how idiot parents supported the banning of Fahrenheit 9/11, let along ANY book! Goes to show how far america's come. and plus, WTF! I'VE READ ALMOST HALF OF THOSE BOOKS! Does that make me a criminal? These people are insane.
I can only thank God I got out of Florida before I had the chance. I have family in Jacksonville, and I visited them over the summer when one of the Harry Potter books was released. (I think it was Order of the Phoenix.) Anyway, I remember seeing on the news how they were burning copies of the book in Mexico. The ignorance.
"A Wrinkle In Time. Madeleine L'Engle. Dell. Challenged at the Polk City, Fla. Elementary School (1985) by a parent who believed that the story promotes witchcraft, crystal balls, and demons. Challenged in the Anniston Ala. schools (1990). The complainant objected to the book's listing the name of Jesus Christ together with the names of great artists, philosophers, scientists, and religious leaders when referring to those who defend earth against evil. Got it. Let's cross Jesus off that list, shall we?" That last line about jesus is priceless. p.s. WrinkleIT is an awsome book.

Some writers confuse authenticity, which they ought always to aim at, with originality, which they should never bother about.

I didn't miss it at all. I pointed out that the list was not complete. Hellooo?
