Well it was probably because they were mostly on buildings and hanging signs, or letterheads etc' to begin with. It would have been suitable for the architecture and the old 'East India Trading Company mindset'. I hope future logos are holographic sharks that make you wet yourself.

I like how Google tried to copy Yahoo and changed their logo to Google! at one point.

That's the current trend (current as in, over the last 50 or so years). But I bet you things will get more complex again; like the Victorian era but in the future. Zeh fyoocha!

Its really interesting to learn what these massive corporations started out as. Apparently Nintendo started over 100 years ago and made playing cards!

Very cool. Being so young I have never seen some of the originals. It was interesting to see how most of the companies decided their first logo could be simplified.

The reason for the last iteration of the IBM logo "lines" where because Rand wanted to mimic a computer screen. I just don't see the reason being "speed and dynamism" like the article suggests. Overall a great article. Glad to know how these icons came about.

You’ve seen these tech logos everywhere, but have you ever wondered how they came to be? <a class="user" href="http://www.bestipodtips.info/">http://www.bestipodtips.info/</a><a class="user" href="http://www.t7000.info/">http://www.t7000.info/</a><a class="user" href="http://www.highpr.net/">http://www.highpr.net/</a><a class="user" href="http://www.e-uuu.com">http://www.e-uuu.com</a>
