I still have a number of //e and //c machines plus the harder to find Apple ][+. Great machines to work on (for their time) with plenty of expansion and a huge peripheral & software base.. I still get a kick out of using Appleworks 3.0 and playing castle wolfenstein (the original!) !
Of course, but it doesn't change the fact that the picture is huge and most of it was very ugly. I am not going to make statements based purely on public opinion, I have my own opinions on things, and a mild burying isn't (and shouldn't be) sufficient incentive to keep me from sharing it :) Apples design has gotten better over the years, but frankly, from what they started out with, thats not too hard. The only reason they are touted as having good design is because their competitors routinely have such shocking design. Calling something pretty just because it isn't ugly is no way to encourage better design. None of these are ferraris or gaudis, they are simply white boxes, and that is not worth the continued praise lavished upon them. Design is about more than appearance, functionality (and not just ease of use) is another major aspect. These are closed systems, there is no tinkering or upgrading to be had. Ipods dont even let you easily change the battery. That is not good design. That is ugly. Would you have prefered me to lie and say:"..otherwise known as the giant page of beauty."That would have gotten me dugg up, but to what end? Without dissenting opinion we are doomed to a perpetual cycle of self congratulatory intellectual masterbation

@snitch,You can change a hotlinked image on your server, but you can't change where it links to on a page you have no control over.http://www.jowstr.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/a ...
