no, nothing should be done at all, except that the teachers should be allowed to carry concealed handguns if they have a permit.America has a disproportinately high rate of gun crime for two reasons. because they are strictly controlled in other countries, so they use different weapons, and because other countries count crime rates differently than the US. The US counts every crime REPORTED, where as Europe counts every crime CONVICTED.Also, look at overall crime rates. The US has a lower per capita murder rate, rape rate, and in fact every other violent crime than most other countries with strict gun control, but groups like the VPC and the Brady campaign only focus on gun crimes because the numbers better fit their agenda.
you know who else supported gun registration?Adolf HitlerPol PotFidel CastroMohammar QuadaffiJoseph StalinIdi AminChairman Mao Tse-Tungand Kim Jong IlRegistration leads to confiscation. it happened in all those regimes, as well as the UK, Australia, and as close to home as California, that said that they only wanted to register those semi-automatic rifles, until a couple years later they decided that you didn't need them, and by then, they knew who had them and where they lived.
Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act of depriving a whole nation of arms, as the blackest. * Gandhi, An Autobiography
