Watch this if you want to understand what's happening, this goes back all the way to the beginning, which was NOT 18 months ago. It was much much earlier. One part scary, one part calming. This could be the beginning of the end of the USA, but don't worry, you're not going to starve to death.

Nice insight. Being an alarmist is a good way to attract attention to yourself as 'someone who is right.' This is a common ego-boosting practice in two ways. Being right is the first and attracting attention is the other.
