tropicalseo.com— Mysterious story disappearances have been happening all across Digg. Are Digg staffers, manually "burying" stories?

sorry, my bad. unless you're an employee of weirdasianews.com you're not doing it professionally. that was an incorrect assumption on my part. that said, my comment in regards to popular ratio still stands- don't mock my stats when yours aren't any better. but don't worry, i'll be digging some of your stuff in the future, as a past tokyo resident, i'm always looking for interesting stories out of japan.i know i said i was done w/ this convo, but i did want to go on record and admit my mistake. i don't like falsehoods being spread about myself, or anyone else.
canwediggit: let me let you in on a secret. Your speculation is wrong. It happens to be that digg is a SOCIAL site, and as such, it helps to have FRIENDS. When I digg stories, it's because I'm going to my friends' upcoming stories on digg. I see what my friends have an interest in and I digg the ones that are interesting to me. That's how people get 10 diggs in minutes; I've seen it happen and it has nothing to do with "gaming" the system. You have two friends. Two who you befriended. Nobody has befriended you. For all we're concerned, you don't exist on Digg. If you want to be noticed, it helps to actually take advantage of the social elements on Digg, or else you're wasting your time whining. It's nice to see that I made the list. It's shameful that "popular" Diggers are shunned because they simply know the ways to get their stories Dugg.
why am i bothering responding to this?tamar- you're an idiot; "Nobody has befriended you" - http://digg.com/users/canewediggit/friends/befriended. the 2 i befriended are my real life friends, you may be unfamiliar with such a concept. and the problem is your whole mentality. i look at what my friends digg/submit, but i don't automatically digg them b/c they're my friends. you people that do that and are concerned with "getting noticed" or finding ways to "get their stories dugg" are the problem. you think this is a popularity contest. so yes, when you digg a story just because your 'friend' dugg it and haven't bothered to rtfa, you are the problem and that is exactly what gaming digg is. it's that attitude that allows great stories to fall by the wayside while crap gets promoted. many popular and successful users are popular and successful b/c they do good work, but lots of stuff gets moved up because of this stupid 'you scratch my back and i'll scratch yours' mentality that you're promoting.
canwediggit - but you're still wrong. I submit stories that I've read. Otherwise, I'd be blind and be submitting crap. Obviously, that's not what I want to do, because that's a complete waste of time, right? It's sad that a few people digg things on the basis of not reading the article, but it happens. Again, the social element is still very pervasive here. Democracy rules. You're wrong when you assume that I automatically digg something because my friends dugg them; however, *because* they have been dugg by my friends, it supports my reasoning to digg stories. I digg them because they are interesting to me, just like they are interesting to people I befriended. I don't befriend everyone; it is on the basis of similar interests. As such, if they digg a story that I like, I will digg it up if I like it too.Furthermore, as you say: "but lots of stuff gets moved up because of this stupid 'you scratch my back and i'll scratch yours' mentality"This is true, but I'm pretty sure that Digg has been adjusting their algo so that things like that don't consistently occur.
