It's not "technically" illegal. Just can't have online poker rooms based in the United States.

Amen. Great article. The restrictions against the game should be eased.

For the record, Madoff's Ponzi scheme is not a pyramid scheme. Look it up. You can explain the rules to everyone and it's still illegal. As far as I'm aware it doesn't matter if it's a fun pyramid scheme. You're still subscribing people to something they know some of them will lose money on.

Totally true man, and it's time that people finally start realizing it and stop treating us like some kind of criminals for playing a game which requires, in my opinion, the same strategic and planning process as one will need when playing chess.

Of course poker is a game of skill, but there are several skills involved. One skill that people like to ignore is the ability to run a crooked game, while maintaining the appearance that you are gambling (or playing skilfully) like the rest of the players. This kind of skill has been present around poker since the beginning. Check out http://cardshark.us and http://sharpsandflats.com for more...

Its gambling to most people... a source of income for some.

If you find the hardest player to beat is a newbie... then you are the newbie without a doubt. Winning players are able to adapt... they don't have a fix strategy they use for every game. It is pretty funny that you got 17 diggs... most people don't know s**t about poker. Most people agree there is some skill in poker, but 99% of the general population probably still think poker is like blackjack, you need skill to play but heavily reliant on luck.

If you are a poker coach and don't realise that poker is a statistically disadvantageous game you're pretty doomed. If it's the case that you're so skilled at poker that every game you play gives you a statistical advantage over other players, that's almost worse. How can you live with yourself knowing you're siphoning profit off the naivety of people who think they stand a chance of winning money in the long run? You're a modern-day con artist.

Poker is a game of skill and Luck. Anyone who thinks poker is a game of complete luck doesn't understand the game and how skill is a huge contributor when winning the larger pot. Choosing your hand range and good bank-roll management are essential.Role of choosing a good hand range at http://pokerhands.webs.com/

Poker is a family of card games, the history of poker is the subject of some debate. I don't like this game

Its both luck and skill, you cant win if your dealt a 9-2 every hand and you cant win if you dont know what your doing.
