WOW! Someone spent a lot of time on this one. This really is definitive. Shame some of the smaller charter airlines don't get WiFi on the go. I did read recenlty that new Boeing planes will have WiFi built in when they are produced.
My brother (15 years old) went online for free (business class) in August on China Airlines flight (B-744) between Taipei and LAX. This article didn't include China Airlines though.
Watch someone else buy this service out from Boeing in the future. Part of the problem of installing large slipstream-disturbing domes on the roof is that once the FAA certifies them after installation, they *can't* be removed. So someone is going to have to pay for the extra fuel costs of flying planes with these things installed. Instead of letting the domes suck up fuel and do nothing, I wager someone will try to revamp the service and make it active again.

Aside from Boeing discontinuing the Connexion service Airbus had long discontinued the Tenzing service.

The OnAir service now incorporates the Tenzing service:<a class="user" href="http://www.onair.aero/en/about/about_partners_c_en.asp">http://www.onair.aero/en/about/about_partners_c_en.asp</a>
