digitaltrends.com — The idea of “free” has become extremely controversial in the technology industry, especially in the case of online content. Rumors that favorite show streaming website Hulu will be charging for all of their content has most online-media-viewing junkies scared stiff.

Comcast wants to charge for the ability to access content, then charge you for that content itself. f**ked both ways.(And they'll probably still include advertisements.)

Amen, i was watching tv when i still lived with a parent, as soon as i got the internet in my first rented house i looked at the prices for tv, tv licensing, a television and thought why the f**k would i pay for that when i have the internet, i was further swayed when i realized most downloaded tv shows lack adverts, so i do not have to see a bank manager with 6 inch twirly facial hair singing and dancing about loans....

While I agree there is a difference between charging for content and running ads, I would argue that hulu is only as "free" today as OTA Radio and TV. There are ads. Just like the "free" over the air radio stations, and "free" over the are networks. I watch Lost for free. But if I am watching it live, it takes an hour of my time for 43 minutes of entertainment.Remember the first season of Fringe? "Fringe will return in 60 seconds" That is just like hulu. And you know what? I didn't FF through that 60 seconds, cause it was doubtfully EXACTLY 60 seconds (or 2 clicks of my DTV remote), and then I'd have to rewind, etc. I just watched the 60 seconds. That is the way to go.

with comcast buying NBC universal, comcast will get a stake on Hulu. you can welcome comcast back in your life.

If services like hulu started charging I would just go with out. It's a ridiculous idea and I know there many more like me.

Mindless nonsense. People really will say anything to get a little attention, it seems.

[While I also hate the constant nickle and diming, Comcast technically just provides you network access. They have nothing to do with web content.]Did you miss the headline where ComCast bought NBC? (Who owns Hulu.)

Wow.No one is forcing me to have home internet access either, but that doesn't mean 95% of the US internet market is owned by three or four companies that have powerful government lobbies that prevent competition and allow them to artificially inflate prices and pull all kinds of shenanigans. Just because I can not take part in the market doesn't mean it operates freely. What the hell got up your skirt? f**k.Okay, how's this? Your MOM is a mop and bucket operator.

I just bought a WDTV Live and hooked it up to my tv recently. I spent two hours just viewing different you tube videos and I was entertained. There are so many interesting things online I don't even watch Hulu and it's free.I download a ton of free podcasts and I don't even get to listen to them all.
