arstechnica.com— Early results are in, and moving Daylight Savings Time up three weeks appears to have produced no measurable power savings. Lots of headaches for techies and systems administrators, though.

Wha-Wha-What!?Now be prepared for the government to roll back the changes either this fall or next year since it didn't save themanytime, and their non DST2007 VCRs and coffer pots did not adjust correctly.
Easy solution to replace DST:Everyone goes to work earlier and leaves earlier. You get your sun after work, and no more messing with clocks (except the good old alarm, which would be a one-time deal).BTW, I HATE getting up before the sun, but find myself doing it most days because that's what my job requires. prockcoreIt'd be a depressing summer (for me) if it got dark at 8...especially considering we just spent a winter where it got dark at 5. I like getting off work at 5 and fishing for four hours. I like getting off work at 5 and lounging by the pool or playing ball with my kid for four hours. It'd be fine with me if it didn't get dark until 11 p.m., because that's my sleepy time. I truly don't understand why some of you want it to be dark earlier in the evening. What's your reason for wanting it to be dark?
@aliengoodYes, I do get paid to administer servers, but I'd rather spend that time with more important issues..The DST change was a total failure because it didnt reduce power consumption, only created havoc in the IT world. Wastern, you couldn't have said it any better. Scientists should have done more research before mandating the DST change.

Here in Alaska, it really is nice. For obvious reasons. Please don't abolish it. :(

Because Americans never turn off the light at night. And it is on all day long. How can you save power?
