2old2play.com — A hardcore gamer waits in line for a Nintendo Wii but none were found. Four PlayStation 3 consoles roll off the truck at that moment he arrives and he's given the chance to buy them. He walks away from the "bundle" offer without a single PlayStation 3 after realizing it wasn't worth the cost. Has Sony's hype dwindled so quickly?

"Best Buy has confirmed that none of their stores have received shipments since launch."Then what do you make of my story just a couple of posts above you? When my friend called me on his cell, I even overheard the BB employee telling him that it was all sold out to the ppl lining up outside. (And this was yesterday, not launch day)Do I have to dig up that Best Buy's number so you can call and ask if they indeed received shipments?http://digg.com/users/DesEagle/dugg...and you're calling someone else a fanboy?

You 360 lovers are stupid, I have a PS3 because its cheaper, yes cheaper, and on my HD tv with 1080P support which the 360 does not even though the "update" is supposed to, after you buy all the bulls**t things for the 360 like the retarted HD player which comes standard on the PS3 and blue ray dvds look amazing in 1080p let me tell u, and the stupid intercooler so the piece of s**t dont over heat along witht he other things you have spent more then a PS3, SONY FOREVER!!!

Not a fanboy! Don't own a PS3, Xbox 360, or Wii, and I have played all three.PS3 60gb + WiFi + Card Reader + Blue Ray Built in = $600Xbox 360 $400 20gb w/ no wifi no card reader + HD-DVD $200 = $600So TECHNICALLY the PS3 is a better deal. Just doing the math don't get upset.

theres nothing wrong with waiting until you find a compelling game to play. this spring should see some solid ps3 releases. by then you can still find a copy of resistance, ridge racer or whatever.

"The PS3 will plummet in price quickly as Blu-Ray costs drop, which they should very quickly."A Blu-Ray drive is about $150-$200 more expensive to manufacture than the equivalent HD-DVD counterpart. It's not the blue diode, as both systems use the same laser. Most likely it's a combination of the aperture and the drive electronics. For whatever reason, blu-ray lost the price/performance curve and HD-DVD won. That significantly diminishes the long term viability of the PS3.As for Cell: IBM and Sony better be ready to go 65nm, 'cause MS sure is with Xenos. And once they do, it will reduce manufacturing costs dramatically while increasing reliability due to less heat dissipation.I think Sony is f**ked.

Nice story. I don't want one either. Actually, the only reason why I own a Gamecube is because it was hell of cheaper compared to the other two. Wii's $250 compared to PS3's $600?

Sony should have concentrated on gaming!!! Not trying to sell us a new physical media that will be outdated(if it ever takes off). The biggest killer for Sony is price( yes despite all the faked demos, bad PR, controller changes, on-line play etc etc). Their response was to attempt to badge the system as a computer. If I wanted a computer I would buy a computer. But also with this they are attempting to make Microsoft on at their own business. Microsoft failed (to a degree) with Xbox 1, but made up for it with 360. Sony could do no wrong with ps2 and seemed to basically forget everything they learned from their success. If they cut the price(quickly) it may have a chance. But what it needs are Killer Apps and none of the titles look like that to me (on release or in the immediate future). The metal gear game looks good, but not enough to fork out that much money.

I am an ex-gamer... (probably enough to get dugg down right there, but now for the coup de grace)...the real reason that I dugg this article is based on pure Nintendo fanboy loyalty. I LOVE to see Nintendo proving itself once again as the company that knows what gamers want: fun friggin' games. Screw time-to-market. Screw state of the art graphics... nothing matters if the games aren't as fun as the other guys games.
