wired.com — [Q] What do you do with all the data? [A] We go to marketers and say, "Here are a couple million people into music, and here are a couple million into movies." We're working with American Idol, Green Day, TNT, a lot of large brands.

"I think people understand that if something's free, there's some form of monetization involved."- I don't think people understand that. They are certainly NOT that aware.

"Greenday was awesome, bro"I'm sure they are if you're one of those guys who still uses the word "bro."

No, I don't. He's being totally straight in this interview. He wasn't looking to change the world, he was looking to make a few bucks and it's working. He's capitalizing on idiocy without screwing people out of their money. Seems pretty alright to me. EDIT: I see the marketing quote from Bill Hicks down there and I agree. But some people are consumer whores and don't care about having the information used to sell them more things. In this situation nobody loses. Technically.

I get them too!!!The one that sends me messages used to be My Aquarium, with a bunch of fish swimming round. Now it's giving me 5 clearly-made-up foreign chicks to date each day! It even says on the homepage 'formerly My Aquarium'. I'm amazed Facebook still allows the bait and switch.Way back at the start, me and some friends made an 'I Love [Friend's Name]' group, invited his friends and girlfriend to it, and then changed it to '[Friend's Name] is crap'. Was funny, but I can't believe they now allow that stuff with apps.

??* i think the worst app in Facebook i've ever seen is that Fuc-KING annoying Fortune Cookie, witch tells ya all kinds of new-age hippie s**t about peace and love; in the worst of all, people like brainless monkeys believes in that

I find it funny that he even has to explain himself. What the f**k do you THINK he's doing with the data?Fairly obvious, unless you're oblivious to marketing ... which most are.
