youtube.com — We are now are a nation known to start war. We feel compelled by our insecurity that we must attack countries to maintain our empire. We have over 700 military bases in 130 countries and we're now talking about bombing Iran. This is a dramatic change from what is truly American and truly Constitutional.

I disagree with Paul on a great many domestic issues, but he's spot on as to foreign policy.Given the choice of Paul or McCain is no choice; McCain is dead set on policies that continue our downward spiral.

What a doom and gloom attitude! I would still rather be an American and live in this great nation than any other. It is the land of opportunity and anyone,,ANYONE can succeed! We have the power to change things everytime we go to the polls and exercise our right to vote! There are alot of men and women who died so we could have that right and God Bless them for caring enough to fight for our freedoms! Why are there so many people trying to get INTO this country if they do not want the same opportunities that far too many Americans take for granted! I blame the education system for not teaching history, civics and patriotism the way they used to. When they took God, moral education and discipline out of the classrooms, it went downhill. When parents started abdicating their respnsibilities as "parents" and expecting the schools to teach their little darlings everything from manners to Sex ED and even expecting them to feed them breakfasts and lunch and babysit them til 5-6 o'clock every evening and help them with their homework,,,,u wonder why young adults do not having the background knowledge to be an informed voter? When I went to school in the 50', 60's and 70's we were taught history and civics, we said the Pledge of Allegiance every morning, sang the Star Spangled Banner and learned to respect the Flag and our country! My Dad, a veteran of WWII, discussed politics and issues at the dinner table and my brothers and sisters were all there together around the table most every night! How often in this day and age is the whole family around the table discussing the day?? It's a different world, maybe, but still the best alternative to anywhere else on earth! And if it needs to swing back, it is in our hands to do that! If the government ceases to represent what the people want, then it's time to throw them out of office and elect some that reflect what we do want! Amen!

When we look at WW2, we must also look at WW1 in the same breath. WW1 is what paved the way to WW2. There is a reason why Hitler became so popular among his people. One may even say that WW2 was the blowback from WW1.

News flash "Fromthetop I know you didn't get this from your O'Reilly/McCain talking points but what the Constitution importantly guarantees is FREEDOM, period, end of story, it does not guarantee a specifically capitalist economic system and in fact the founding fathers were VERY afraid of concentrated wealth:""If the American people ever allow private banksto control the issue of their money, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that willgrow up around them (around the banks),will deprive the people of their propertyuntil their children will wake up homelesson the continent their fathers conquered."<a class="user" href="http://quotes.liberty-tree.ca/quote/thomas_jefferson_quote_ca94">http://quotes.liberty-tree.ca/quote/thomas_jeffers ...</a>Thomas JeffersonThe neo-cons have created a revisionist history that America has always been a land of corporate globalist crony capatalists which just isn't true, in fact in the early years of this country corporations were chartered to states and communities that could revoke that charter, they certainly wouldn't have put up with outsourcing to China!<a class="user" href="http://www.reclaimdemocracy.org/personhood/">http://www.reclaimdemocracy.org/personhood/</a>

This multi-billion dollar taxpayer funded FARCE was nowhere to be found to protect America on 9/11. The entire "state of the art" US defense systems were all asleep at the wheel too. Why should we have it? after totally failing 100% across the board at this most basic task of defending the country. What a joke. Abolish it already. Along with the rest of the useless, taxpayer funded alphabet soup agency garbage. Goodbye! No one was held accountable of course. Nobody was responsible, no one was fired for gross incompetence. In reality, MIC served quite the role to insure the staged "attack" psy-ops were successful (among other things..), count on it. "Mission accomplished."President Eisenhower warned us all the way back in 1961 to beware of this "military industrial complex" behemoth. Many folks though he was "paranoid" at the time. Turns out he was correct. Fast forward to today, it's running amok out of control with no end in sight. America is bankrupt as result of endless war profiteering for this sham in the Middle East. Welcome to the machine. "Your papers, please."

This may be the year when we finally come face to face with ourselves -- that we really are just a nation of...used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns, and no qualms at all about killing anyone else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable. hunter s. thompson (I know I've taken the quote a bit out of context)
