lifehacker.com — This isn't a "How to lose 200 pounds in a year" article, but it could be. Despite the proliferation of diet plans and expensive exercise equipment, the key to fitness is and always will be healthy eating, portion control, and a solid exercise routine. Here are some of the tips and tools we've covered over the years, many of which I use regularly.

I wonder if the push-ups and the running programs can be combined? Since both rely on working out every other day, you can just workout for each program in every odd and even days.Or is it too much pressure?

I tried it out last year, and while I didnt see it through to the end, I can attest its much better than trying to hop out there and start running a mile or two right off the bat. You occasionally feel like its too easy (at least in the beginning), but it helps build a great base for the longer distances.Highly recommended.

Yes, you can combine them. Exercise works like that.

Zolthar: push-ups and the running programs can be combined. But you have to listen carefully to your body, you need restitution as well.I however, recommend core fitness exercises, there are four good ones here:http://www.fitnessforsports.net/core-fitness-exerc ...
