gizmodo.com — "To end the celebration of the 50 years of the LEGO brick, here are the best sets in history. Handpicked from Lugnet?the biggest LEGO database?based on their popularity, these 229 sets belong to the most iconic lines". Amazing selection. I had some of these and seeing them is an emotional ride. Nostalgia at its best.

I could be wrong, but I think the normal lego block size pieces came out before 1991. I got my first set sometime during the 80s.

My first was the LEGO pirates! I got the Knights, Ninjas and Samurai also. Those were all my favorites! A few others in there too. Sadly the LEGO space sets were before my time...but now I'm gonna hit e-bay and call up my friends, I think it's time for a LEGO WAR. Goodness will I ever grow up? Probably not...

I have the Ultimate Collector's Series Imperial Star Destroyer, a TIE Interceptor (the one with the blue accents), and an AT-RT (All Terrain Recon Transport from Revenge of the Sith). Not so much a LEGO nerd as a Star Wars nerd. :)Take that, grammar nazis!!!No wrong spellings or grammatical errors!(I'm one too.)
