Nobody dies from marijuana. Don't believe me? Find a death certificate where the cause of death was listed as marijuana use.

Are you saying that all anxiety issues that a person can get are related to socializing with others? How about OCD and such? I believe weed is the best thing that can treat it.

So i didnt read most of the replies to this post but, I took some like benzo which is like anti anxiety possibly kinda anti depressant medicine and i was a heavy weed smoker (And proud for 2 years) and then i had a massive panic attack one night and was worried about it for a long time and had another one once i had sort of slowed down on weed then smoked again, i had a really big attack. Is it true that I wont be able to enjoy weed the same again? p.s. to everyone who has a panic attack the first time they smoke weed is either too much of a bitch to be smoking weed or it really isnt working out with your brain chemistry, i had to smoke weed for a long time like 1-3 times a day before i started getting anxious, now its pretty bad

I suffer from anxiety and like most people who have anxiety I have tried Xanax, Kolonopin, and every other drug out there. I finally realized that using drugs to cure anxiety was just like putting a Band-Aid over a gunshot wound and that anxiety is a result of a much deeper seeded problem. To cure yourself you have to use your brain it’s much easier and the results last longer I love it. This blog talks about anxiety issues and ways to deal with it I found it helpful http://fastanxietyrelief.blogspot.com/ I think there is allot better ways to deal with the anxiety than smoking pot that’s like saying if you are fat you should try throwing up.

I just recently started getting anxiety attacks. They at first were short and went away almost immediately. Then one day I had to walk out of an IMAX movie because of a panic attack. I didnt feel right for a day or two after it. Now even more recent I had a full blown panic attack, with friends in the room. I made them take me to the hospital because I had no idea what was happening to me. Why am I telling you this?I have been smoking weed daily for 10 - 12 years and these attacks only happen when I smoke weed. Not once when I wasn't high. I love weed and I am sad to say I have to stop because of all that has happened to me. Alot of people here say that it effects people individually and that is so true. I know a lot of people who smoke and you can see that it has different effects on different people. So it could help you with anxiety! I wish that were the case for me :(Just to let you know I have replaced my after work doob with the gym and I feel amazing. I just hope I dont have another attack as it was the most terrifying thing I have experienced in 10 years.**If anyone has a website that talks more about this or panic disorders let me know. Thanks!

i actually had to make an account to tell you how stupid you are. you've been smoking for 12 years all the time and you're blaming these new panic attacks on marijuana? does that make any logical sense to you at all?
sjgarvieMay 23, 2011
Nope thanks for making fun of me during the worst time of my life. Just to let you know I am doing great now. I still dont know what caused them but they only happened when I smoked. So you can see my disposition. Have a great day John Clocks.

I made an account just to respond to this. Panic attacks suck and I knew what you went through. My first panic attack was while smoking and I had several others while I wasn't. Weed is a "trigger" for a lot of people. Social situations, job interviews, too much caffeine, etc. can all be triggers for people with panic problems. Everyone is different. The actual "cause" of the inherent panic problem is none of the triggers though. The wiring in you brain has been changed to fear these triggers and induce a fight or flight response to them. Your brain essentially reacts to getting high the same way it would a lion chasing it in the Savannah. There are ways to re-wire this so that weed, or whatever your triggers happen to be, no longer produce the fear and panic response but it takes time and effort. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has proven to be one of the best ways. Panic attacks suck. I was afraid to smoke weed for years but as my understanding grew and my determination to rid myself of the fear grew I choose to face the triggers head on. This is pretty much what CBT is. You have to face the triggers again and again and sit with the panic and learn that its not going to hurt you. Its very difficult and best done with a therapist but it works. I'm going to go smoke a joint right now as a matter of fact. I haven't smoked in quite a while and I"m nervous about having a panic attack but It's the only way to get over the reaction to certain triggers. Sure I could just stop smoking weed for the rest of my life which I wouldn't mind, IF it was my choice. I don't want to let the fear and panic force me to live my life a certain way which is why I've gone through pain and hardship in order to face my triggers and learn to master them. This is along rambling piece but I just thought I'd set the record straight a little and let you know sjgarvie that I know what you've gone through. It sucks. Good luck with everything. Peace.

sjgarvie: I'm glad that you finally found your way to a healthier way of life. Change is good. I too suffer from anxiety and PTSD. I've found that certain strains of Mary Jane reduces anxiety to include: Maui Wowie, OG Cush and any earthy type of MJ or MJ that isn't treated with chemicals. Also, were you smoking a beautiful buquet of flowers wrapped in a blunt wrap? The Blunt can cause anxiety as it contains nicotine and other chemicals. The amount of Mary Jane needs to be in doses just like any drug. I'm going out for a couple of hits now...then the gym. Enjoy MJ! It was put on earth as a natural medical resource.

I think the 'cure' for anxiety is subjective to each person. For myself however i have found a positive effects in marijuana, particularly though food consumption. It's something about the slow release through metabolism that has helped me to better understand the processes of my anxiety's; doubt, fear, over-thinking. It was actually the removal of short term memory(one of the nice side effects), which helped me to realize that i had been dwelling on short memory, choosing every next action as a dependency, instead of acting on instinct and thought. this had been causing most of my social shyness, panic attacks, ect. long story short I've now made a conscious decision to ignore these negative patterns of thought and turned my life around. If i do use, which i rarely do now, its mostly for recreation not dependency. which is how all drugs should be treated. I find it funny every time someone refers to users as people 'experimenting with drugs'. I find maybe less than 1% of the people who use drugs, do it with any purpose in mind, which kind of defeats the point of any scientific experiment...

I recently found out I may have anxiety issues, and i wanted a none pill form i wanted and organic approach to a treatment. I have smoked pot for two years now and I find that when I am under the influence i feel more calm and helped with overwhelming of over-thinking situation's that didn't need to be. I also notice my shyness around other people changes to, Im less concentrated on what other people think of me, which boost self esteem. I am not dependent on using it, but if in high stress situation's I find a toke will help re leave that stress.

hey buddy, i experience with my panic attakc when i was 18 then i quit for last maybe 1 or 2 yrs half, then i smoke pot again there nothing hit me, i guess that something u need to help figure it out yourself for relax and dealing with stress. sometime you gotta have to take careful not to take so much weed in your body just take step at one time for 5 mins take a small hit and it wont hurt you. i got that high anxiety attack one time because i was stress and i know how to deal with it because after u used to it with pot with panic disorder you will know what you doing to deal with it, ofc you wont die because i learn myself how to manage with panic disorder while you smoke pot. :D try your best and good luck have fun when your high smiles.
