Libertarianism is the only reason you're allowed to say it's a joke. The more socialism you have, the more cops are needed to make it stick and go after the "cheaters" and dissodents. Anyone recall Andrei Sakharov? Imprisoned in the "worker's paradise" for daring to say using nukes was bad.
Vegas odds makers say he is the only Republican that can beat the democrats. He is not likely to win, but if he wins the primaries, and he WILL WIN IN NEW HAMPSHIRE, then he will win the Presidency.
"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win." -- Mahatma Gandhi. First NYT ignored Dr. Paul (complete censorship in all previous articles). Now they publish one prominent article ridiculing him and his supporters (but tellingly not his message). When Dr. Paul and his message ultimately triumphs, and liberty is restored to this great country, perhaps this rather blatant hit piece will go down in history as the symbolic start of phase two.
Ron Paul is a very strange duck indeed. The reason that he appeals to so many groups across the spectrum of right and left is that he's anti-authoritarian in outlook, and more anti-Iraq war than any other candidate right now. He's also hated by a lot of people too, especially those who see him as shutting off the flow of money and privileges the current system brings their way. I just like having him in the race to get serious issues discussed, and it sure makes the primary a lot more interesting too.
I am very conservative but I like this guy.He doesn't like to muddle in the world's problems, and he doesn't think that our military can "fix" everything. He's a strict constitutionalist, he hates the Federal Reserve Board and wants our currency back on a precious metal standard. He's for sound financial spending. And best of all, he doesn't give a damn about how his colleagues expect him to vote as a Republican.IOW, he doesn't have a chance in hell of winning the Republican nomination -- but he'll probably end up getting my vote anyway.

I was just asking a question, it's unusual that I see older guys using digg or the internet in general.
