englishrussia.com — Russian scientists say that Moscow stray dogs became much smarter. The four legged oldest human’s friends demonstrate real smartness such as riding the Moscow metro every morning to get from their suburban places of living to the fat regions of Moscow center.

If you think with your sense of smell, it's not hard to imagine dogs connecting the dots from the smell of a particular train station to an area with food.Plus, if I can smell a Midtown kebab cart from 5 blocks away, I'm sure a dog can do better. It's impressive, but I think this is the kind of thing that dogs do, not that Russian strays are somehow "smarter."

@ stilesjaThere was that story from the UK of the white cat who every day would ride the bus and get off on the very same stop. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-447527/Mys ...Though not as cool as dogs learning to ride the subway I admit.

Maybe they can judge which humans are heading to the "right sort of area."Do humans who work downtown smell the same, in aggregate?
