ifilms.tv — VoteVets doesn't pull punches and this is a very potent ad. It looks like it would scale well to other states as well, meaning that Senators who voted with George Allen (of macaca fame) could see the same ad runing in their states for pennies on the production dollar.

Either way, our troops did not have proper body, nor were their vehicles properly armored. Don't you read the news? "Congress has allocated funds for all U.S. troops to wear 16-pound, ceramic-plated Interceptor body armor (search), but as many as 51,000 American soldiers and civilian administrators in Iraq have not yet been equipped with the gear, and have been asking friends and families at home to purchase and send them off-the-shelf models for protection."<a class="user" href="http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,101061,00.html">http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,101061,00.html</a>"When Hart died in a small-arms ambush in mid-October, the Army had no official plan to “retrofit” most of the 12,000-odd Humvees in Iraq. This in spite of continuing attacks on convoys and complaints from combat units that they were taking unnecessary casualties in the thin-skinned Humvees."<a class="user" href="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4731185/">http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4731185/</a>

@ IlyagDuffy40 was the one who made the comment about using 80's armor. I was simply stating that he was actually helping the video by making those points.Oh, and even though the flak jackets were actually enached versions, Fox news, a republican biased network, reports, "U.S. soldiers not issued the Interceptor equipment are using enhanced versions of the Vietnam-era flak jackets, which are incapable of stopping a round from a Kalashnikov (search) or AK-47, the most common weapon in Iraq." What the hell is a macaca?George Allen says a nonsense word, and a reporter searches the internet to see if he can make some hay out of it, and then writes the story as if Allen told an inside joke that all white folks would understand. George Allen must be a racist!I never heard of a macaca before this story broke, and I'm a very well educated person.

@HoovoolaUm... that was the whole point of the video. The troops we given degraded, 80's armor as opposed to new armor with blast plates... your points just support what was in the video. And my point is that everything in there was probably accurate but that the premise is bulls**t. One individual may have voted against the bill based on a reason other than a soldier will get killed. Like maybe something else in the bill, like maybe forcing something on the military that the military did not want. Or maybe there was rider that was bad for the overall war effort. That was also the point, when congress voted for the war, they voted to send the army they had funded. That was what they had funded, shall we sit around and see who actually voted against what bill when?@ilyegYes, assloads of it.@ IamcitizenN 1984-2004, certainly to late for the Nam, but my father was there. Yes IraqThe first Body Armor (Flack Jacket) I was issued in 85 was Olive drab and said it was manufactured in 1972The second type I was Issued in 90 was the one displayed in the video as a Viet Nam era , and was marked "Body Armor" and was Part of the PASG systemThe "New" Body armor shown I was issued in 99 and came with a blast plate that was meant to protect the heart from blast trauma.in 02 I was issued yet another version, that was the interceptor body armor. So talk what you know dung beatle and FOAD@gr8oneDone all the time, in close quarters, non of the body will completely stop penetration@ MadfesterN0 it does not, says so right on the label, ever read it?@ detriusThats all of 450 i know, can't say any of them are, though it does not come up a lot. especially if you are deployed, you know military absentee ballots get thrown out in democrat precinct. Thanks every one and have an Air Assault day.

Max cleland was triple amputee because he was drunk and playing with hand grenades. And killed a man.If he was not an amputee, he would have done time in PrisonI detest Max Cleland, he is everything that a professional soldier is not, mostly not competent

If it were someone I knew in Iraq, I would want them to have working body armor. It's interesting to keep in mind that the AK-47 and the "vests left over from the Viet Nam war" haven't changed - nor have politicians. Our politicians were putting our soldiers up against superior firepower with inferior armor way back in Nam - so why do vets and other people keep voting for these assh**es?Of course it'd all be a moot point if:1) European nations and the UN had not skirted sanctions on Iraq that, like it or not, were containing Saddam.-or-2) The Democrats hadn't overwhelmingly voted FOR WAR.The Neocon Hawks were being idiots, but that's what they do. And Europe, the UN, and the Democrats did everything they could to avoid developing a spine and stopping the war hawks. You don't need new body armor when you're not invading other nations.
